How to Clean Your Water Cooler :: Cleaning 101

The following steps are suggested for cleaning and sanitizing your cooler resevoir. You should clean your cooler's resevoir every three months.

1.) Unplug the cord and remove the empty water bottle.

2.) Remove the top of the water cooler and take out the plastic baffle inside the resevoir. (Some water cooler tops fit "snug", so you may have to wiggle the top from side to side to remove.)

3.) Add one-HALF teaspoon of unscented bleach to the remaining water in the resevoir.

4. Wash the resevoir with the diluted bleach solution.

5.) Drain the bleach solution from the resevoir through the cold water faucet.

6.) Fill the plastic resevoir with tap water and drain again. Dry the resevoir with a paper towel.

7.) Wash the plastic baffle, drip tray and water cooler top in warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry. DO NOT PUT IN DISHWASHER!!

8.) Put the drip tray back in place, put the baffle into the resevoir and place the top back in the water cooler.

9.) Install a fresh bottle of Wate Boy water and plug in the cord.
